Every BTA mentor has firsthand experience with admissions at the world's most selective schools. That means your child is advised by people who know exactly what these universities look for.
Our mentors provide individualized, end-to-end guidance across every stage of the college admissions journey, helping students build not only stronger applications, but stronger futures. From the earliest stages of self-discovery to the final submission of each application, we work closely with students to identify their academic interests, uncover their unique passions, and shape a compelling personal profile that stands out to selective colleges and universities.

Our entire team collaborates to ensure every student and family gets the benefit of collective expertise, diverse talents, and seamless support throughout the application process.
Our support includes strategic advising on extracurricular activity selection, thoughtful course planning, summer school and research program identification and applications, carefully balanced school list development, and college major selection aligned with each student’s strengths and long-term goals.
Our mentors guide students through the most important storytelling elements of the admissions process, including brainstorming, essay outlining, essay refinement, and final application review.
And they help the student understand why an overarching application theme is crucial to admissions success.

Our Mentors
Rose
Rose studied at Georgetown University, and has worked as an academic consultant since 2021. She has advisory experience across multiple subject areas, including algebra, Spanish, and writing, and specializes in tailoring strategies to students’ unique academic and professional aspirations.
She has advised incoming Georgetown students seeking prestigious internships in the U.S. Senate, assisted Spanish-speaking students entering the D.C. school system as a bilingual tutor, and worked with high school students to create a long-term admissions strategy.
Rose has helped students get admitted to: U. of Pennsylvania, Cornell, Georgetown, Princeton, Johns Hopkins, U. of Maryland-College Park, U. of Michigan-Ann Arbor, Emory, U. of Chicago, UCLA, Williams College, and other top 30 schools.
Alexander
Alexander's volunteering experience in the Hunter College High School counseling department, provided him with a great deal of experience, and has continued to play an active role guiding Hunter graduates interested in either Brown University or the finance industry.

Ritika
Ritika studied computer science and quantitative decision science at Princeton University. She understands how to use students’ past experiences and profiles to strategize college lists and help achieve students’ college goals. She is especially experienced in creating strong extracurricular lists based on a student’s interests to further define their application theme.

Pooja
Pooja pursued a dual degree in Public Health and Statistics at Brown University, and has aimed to blend her passions for policy and medicine into a career focused on health equity.
She draws from her experience to help students navigate the complex college application process, aiming to ease anxieties and empower students on their educational journey.

Swetha
Swetha, a graduate of Georgetown University, studied Government and Economics with aspirations to channel her skills into a future career in law.
She provides invaluable guidance to students in Common App and Supplementary Essay writing, building and framing extracurriculars, and the American college application process. Her experience in this realm mirrors her commitment to fostering educational growth and helping others succeed.

Haruka
Haruka studied at Georgetown University's Walsh School of Foreign Service. As a trilingual and an international student coming from Tokyo and Beijing, she creates a lasting impact on students with her exceptional blend of academic prowess and diverse, international experiences. As a student from East Asia who has underwent the admission process for American junior boarding, boarding, and college, she possesses comprehensive knowledge and first-handed experiences of applying to, as well as studying at American educational institutions.

Courtney
Courtney holds a degree from Georgetown University in International Economics, with a minor in International Development, and has worked as an academic consultant since 2022. She is experienced with all types of learners, and has tutored in areas such as biology, writing and rhetoric, advanced math, economics, and Spanish, with a focus on adapting to the individual students needs and learning mindset. She excels at brainstorming and peer-editing services for the college admissions process.

Saujas
Saujas studied at Cornell University, with a degree in Operations Research and Information Engineering, including minors in Business and Computer Science. He has many years of experience working with students on their AP classes, SAT exams, and college applications, as well as tutoring and leading Academic Excellence Workshops for multivariable calculus and linear algebra. He is experienced in helping students tailor their extracurriculars and supplemental essays to maximize their chances of being admitted into T-20 schools.

Emma
Emma is a graduate of Cornell University, where she studied Healthcare Policy, with minors in Business and Global Health. She has many years of experience teaching SAT English and Math, as well as tutoring children from ages 6-17 in a myriad of pre-college subjects. Emma's strengths lie at college essay writing, and is extremely adaptive in changing her teaching style to best match her student's needs.

Lucy
Lucy studied psychology at Cornell University, with an Education minor. She has been working with students in both classroom settings and private one-on-one lessons across a wide range of ages. Having earned high scores in over a dozen AP classes and the SAT, Lucy is skilled in creating plans foundational to student success. She specializes in weaving captivating stories unique to an individual by integrating both academic and personal interests crucial in the admissions process.

Maitri
Maitri graduated from the University of Michigan, studying computer science. She is deeply committed to helping students navigate their academic journeys and making the most out of their college experience. She has tutored students in subjects ranging from math, English, and Spanish, to computer programming. She has been awarded the William Branstrom Prize which honors students who rank in the upper five percent of their class at the University of Michigan.

Grace
Grace studied Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University, with concentrations in strategy and business analytics. She has mentored students in essay writing and editing, college planning, and SAT and ACT exam preparation. She has worked with many students throughout their college application process in applying to T-20 universities. As someone who has contributed to numerous literary magazines, she is passionate about helping students show the best side of themselves through their personal statements.
Professionally, she has worked at Goldman Sachs as a FinTech Focus Fellow and consulted for companies including CCC Intelligent Solutions and Icon Payments.
Leo
Leo is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University, where he studied computer science, with a minor in entrepreneurship and management. He has worked as a developer in the Delineo Disease Modeling Project since 2023 and is passionate about the intersection of health and data sciences.
He has experience in peer tutoring students in various mathematics and programming classes. He has also worked with various college applicants in essay writing, specializing in narrative structure and voice.

Diana
Diana graduated from Georgetown University, majoring in Economics with minors in Business Studies and Government. She has worked as a Teaching Assistant for Principles of Microeconomics at Georgetown where she led recitation sessions and developed supplemental instructional materials to help students grasp complex economic concepts. Her experience in academic instruction has equipped her with the skills to tailor lessons to different learning styles, ensuring her students gain both confidence and comprehension in their studies.
Diana has provided students assistance in writing their Common App and Supplementary essays. She has worked closely with students to refine their narratives, highlight their unique strengths, and present a well-rounded application.
